TriviAI Challenge ("we", "our", or "the app") is a mobile trivia game developed by Palmer Dev. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, a username you choose, and a password. Your password is securely managed by Firebase Authentication and is never stored in plain text.

Profile data: You may optionally upload a profile photo or select a preset avatar. Uploaded photos are stored in Firebase Storage.

Game data: We store your game scores, statistics, challenge history, friend list, and streak progress to provide the core gameplay experience.

Push notification tokens: If you allow notifications, we store your device's push notification token to send you game-related alerts (friend requests, challenge updates, etc.). You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Ad interaction data: We use Google AdMob to display ads. Google may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data according to Google's Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not directly collect your location data. However, Google AdMob may infer approximate location from your IP address for ad targeting purposes, per Google's Privacy Policy.
• We do not collect contacts or phone numbers.
• We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs beyond AdMob.
• We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To provide gameplay features (solo games, challenges, party mode, leaderboards)
• To connect you with friends and deliver challenge notifications
• To display ads that help support the app
• To improve the app experience and fix bugs

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, and Storage), which provides enterprise-grade security including encryption in transit and at rest. We use security rules to ensure users can only access their own data and data shared with them through gameplay.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated personal data at any time directly within the app: go to the Profile tab, scroll to the bottom, and tap "Delete Account". Deletion is immediate and permanent.

6. Children's Privacy

TriviAI Challenge is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase — authentication, data storage, push notifications
• Google AdMob — advertisement display
• Expo / EAS — app build and update services

8. Your Choices

• Notifications: You can enable or disable push notifications in your device settings at any time.
• Profile photo: You can change or remove your profile photo at any time within the app.
• Account deletion: You can delete your account instantly within the app (Profile → Delete Account) or by submitting a request.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or via email. The "Effective date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
